TAKE ME OUT: ELEVEN MADISON PARK
What makes Eleven Madison Park the finest restaurant in New York, perhaps in the world? The partners responsible for this gramercy treasure add more to their plate and show minimalism returning to the restaurant’s roots.
In late 2017, Eleven Madison Park was reopened to the public following 8 months-long renovation. Partners chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara were ready to put their own creative stamp on the restaurant, that was originally purchased from notable hospitality master Danny Meyer in 2006.
Call it New Minimalism.America’s most influential restaurant prides itself on a spirit of perpetual reinvention, yet making drastic shift in its cooking and service and returning to simplicity.
Eleven Madison Park Is taking a prominent turn away from 25 courses marathon tasting menu that has dominated gastronomy in recent years. Instead of a mental blur, the ultimate goal is to having customers remember all the courses. Chef Daniel Humm has simple rule in his kitchen: “If it’s too hard to make, don’t make it.”
